Kudos to Port Moody and Port Coquitlam residents, who are apparently the recycling kingpins of Metro Vancouver. See my story here

But, as PoCo Mayor Greg Moore points out, the two communities have been practicing the art of recycling longer than most so it's ingrained into their daily habits. Their kitchen scraps program, for instance, have been working for three years. PoCo also picks up garbage on a bi-weekly basis.

In Burnaby, where I live, the kitchen scraps program has been operating for about a year. In Vancouver, the kitchen scraps program is being phased in, making it hard for neighbourhood residents to figure out who has it or doesn't.

How do you fare? Are you a regular recycler or do you think more needs to be done to make it easier to recycle than toss your garbage?
