Relocation of sewer line

As part of early works construction for the Evergreen Line, crews are completing the relocation work for a sewer line located underneath the railway tracks. This work will take place on Clarke Street near the foot Queens Street in Port Moody.

DETAILS OF WORK

Night work is anticipated to take place on Friday, December 7, 2012, between 6 pm and 7 am.

„h Activities involving higher noise levels, including excavation and hydraulic hammering, will take place from 6:30 pm to 10 pm and 3 am to 7 am.

„h Noise levels will be reduced between 10 pm and 3 am.

„h Three crews will be working to complete this work in one night.

„h Some temporary parking restrictions will be in place on Clarke Street, between Kyle Street and Queens Street

This will complete the major utility work along Clarke Street that has required traffic and parking restrictions. Crews will return to complete some restoration work in early 2013.

The sewer relocation is part of the early works construction to prepare for shifting of approximately 400 metres of railway tracks through Port Moody to the north to accommodate the ground-level guideway of the Evergreen Line. The railway relocation work includes the relocation of utilities, realignment of Columbia Street (adjacent to the tracks) and construction of a gravel base for the relocated tracks. Early works construction lays the groundwork for major construction and helps to accelerate the project
