3.1 Evergreen Project Office

Amanda Farrell, Executive Project Director, along with project staff, provided a presentation to update Council on the Evergreen Line Project.

She also advised Council about traffic changes that will affect the Seaview neighbourhood. These changes were communicated to the residents door to door in early February as well as community information meetings. She advised that they will also be holding meetings with west Port Moody, View Street residents and the business community.

3.2 Salvation Army Kettle Drive

Nadine March, Kettle Coordinator, Salvation Army, to present Mayor and Council with the 2013 Mayoral Challenge Award for raising the most money during the kettle drive.

3.3 SUCCESS A Chance 2 Choose

Evelyn Humphreys, Project Manager together with Morgan from S.U.C.C.E.S.S. A Chance to Choose spoke to the community project titled LADDER (Letting Art Define Dignity and Empowerment through Recovery), a project to raise awareness for chemo brain or chemo fog which is the term given the cognitive changes that can occur during and after chemotherapy. They advised they are holding an Art Fair on March 8, 2013 at Old Orchard Hall to raise awareness and funds. Ms Humphreys then updated Council on recent changes.

3.4 Barnet Lions

Jeremiah Tiu Lim, President and Jim Small, Past President, Barnet Lions, requested that Council consider establishing an Adopt-a-Street/Parks program where community members can volunteer to clean city streets/parks.

4.3 Heritage Reserve Fund Bylaw 2013, No. 2952

"City of Port Moody Heritage Reserve Fund Bylaw, 2013, No. 2952", a bylaw to allow the funding of heritage preservation projects, including the purchase of heritage buildings from the Heritage Reserve Fund.

6.1 Tri-Cities Planning Partnership: Proposed Regional Planning Process

8.1 Notice of Motion: Healthy Tree Removal Consultation Policy
 
Council Glumac submitted the following notice of motion:
THAT staff draft a Healthy Tree Removal Consultation Policy which requires decisions regarding tree removal on city property to be reviewed by the Environmental Protection Committee;

AND THAT the draft be forwarded to the Environmental Protection Committee for review.

Peter Bolhuis from the Seaview neighbourhood spoke to the Evergreen Line’s plan announced this evening regarding traffic access from that neighbourhood to Clarke Street and Barnet Highway.
