Mayor Clay called the meeting to order at 6:05pm.

Councillor Junker assumed the role of Presiding Member at this point.

2. Public Input

Stirling Ward, Port Moody, noted that it is time for Port Moody to move away from an industrial tax base and towards a commercial and residential tax base, and encouraged Council to approve more development in the community.
John Grasty, Port Moody, expressed support for development on the Andres Wines and Flavelle properties and encouraged Council to provide more information on approval of community grants.

AND THAT staff be directed to implement Option 1 for the contracting of vector assessment and abatement services by a third party contractor for complaints received about vectors on private property as recommended in the report;
AND THAT staff be directed to prepare a Request for Proposal for a vector control contractor to provide this service to the City;
AND THAT the $35,000 estimated to be required for Option 1 be forwarded to the Finance Committee for identification of a funding source.

AND THAT, per Section 475 of the Local Government Act, the City formally notify the following organizations in writing of the application:
the BC Ministry of Environment;
Fisheries and Oceans Canada;
the Greater Vancouver Regional District (Metro Vancouver);
School District 43;
Port Metro Vancouver;
TransLink;
the municipality adjacent to the area covered by the plan, being the City of Burnaby;
and affected First Nations, being: Musqueam Nation, Kwikwetlem First Nation, Sto:lo Nation, Sto:lo Tribal Council, Skawahlook First Nation, Soowahlie First Nation, Seabird Island Band, Shxw’owhamel First Nation, Lyackson First Nation, Penelakut Tribe, Hul’qumi’num Treaty Group, Stz’uminus First Nation, Cowichan Tribes, Halalt First Nation, Lake Cowichan First Nation, Squamish Nation, and Tsleil-Waututh Nation.

AND THAT the grant funding of $5,400 be referred to the Finance Committee for identification of a funding source.
