Port Moody Mayor Mike Clay has formally announced he intends to seek the top job in the Nov. 15 civic election.

Clay said he's proud of what he and council have achieved in the past three years, particularly the new Inlet Centre fire hall, Moody Street overpass and the expanded Port Moody Arts Centre. If re-elected, he said he looks forward to putting the official community plan vision into reality and "bring the much anticipated revitalization to our historic core," he said in a release.

"We've laid the groundwork with the OCP and the financial plans; now we need to move on to the zoning bylaw updates, transportation master plan, parks and recreation master plan and long term capital plans," he added.

Clay also served as a councillor from 2005 to 2011.
