Tuesday’s decision laid the groundwork for an extensive series of meetings and public consultation concluding with a board decision on Feb. 27.

Here are the steps leading up to the meeting that will determine what schools, if any, will be closed.

• Dec. 11 to 15: District officials will meet with school principals, parent advisory committees and school planning councils to clarify the criteria used in determining school closures and to plan the next steps.

• Jan. 8 to 12: Meetings will be held at each school to provide background information about the criteria for closure and get parental input.

• Jan. 29 to Feb. 2: Information will be collated and shared with principals, PAC executives and SPCs, and circulated to the community.

• Feb. 5 to 9: A second round of meetings will be held with the schools.

• Feb. 16: Input will be collated and a report and recommendation forwarded to the superintendent.

• Feb. 20: a public meeting will be held at Winslow Centre at 7 p.m.

• Feb. 27: A final report on school closures will be presented at the regular board meeting. Trustees are expected to decide which, if any, schools should be closed.
