A rally in support of Moody elementary school will be held tomorrow prior to a meeting on school closure.

Moody’s parent advisory council is holding the rally between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. in front of the school on St. Johns Street between Grant and Moody streets in Port Moody.

The closure meeting organized by School District 43 is at 7 p.m.

Moody elementary is one of eight schools being considered for closure as the district grapples with declining enrolment and maintenance costs for older schools needing seismic repairs.

The board will host a special meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20 at Winslow Centre, 1100 Winslow Ave. to get public input on school closures and is expected to make a decision Feb. 27.
