Natalie Forster, Port Moody, made a presentation to Council on her experience of a lifetime carrying the 2010 Olympic Torch in Port Moody.

David Spence, Port Moody, provided information on the participation of Coastal Sound Music Academy choirs in the Olympic and Paralympic Games. He submitted a poster of upcoming choir events. He also noted that it was on March  11, 1913 when the letters patent were received by Port Moody incorporating Port Moody as a municipality. He also noted that Port Moody’s centennial is only three years away.

Juli Patz and Barb Henham, representing Crossroads Hospice Society, provided information on and encouraged members of Council and Port Moody residents to register for the 2010 Hike for Hospice taking place on May 2, 2010. Barb Henham also spoke to the work done on the Crossroads Labyrinth Healing Garden.

Councillor Rockwell declared a conflict of interest on item 3.2 as she owns a home with a secondary suite and left the meeting at 7:34 p.m.

Beverley Davino representing neighbours Diane and Frank Watts, and Wendy and Danny Koeppen requested that Council reconsider water and sewer utility charges on secondary suites. She suggested that this is an unfair charge for the small minority of secondary suite owners who previously legalized their suites. She advised that she and those she represents consume less utility services than would some larger families and other uses. She suggested the utility revenues should be disbursed back to registered secondary suite owners.

Councillor Rockwell returned to the meeting at 7:42 p.m.
