Report: Development Services - Planning Division, dated October 2, 2014
Presentation: General Manager of Development Services / File: 3900-05-03

The General Manager of Development Services gave a presentation on the zoning issues and potential solutions previously identified by Council on building height, size, and siting, and provided information on the ramification of each proposed solution. At the request of Council, the General Manager of Development Services provided further explanation on grade definitions, inclusion of basements and bathrooms in calculation of floor area ratio (FAR), issues with using FAR as a regulation tool, tools used by other cities to regulate view preservation, methods of ensuring uniform setbacks, etc.

THAT the report dated October 2, 2014 from Development Services regarding New Homes in the Established loco Road/Pleasantside Neighbourhood - Discussion of Issues be received;
AND THAT staff be directed to provide the information contained in the report to the public in advance of the Information Session and Town Hall Meeting scheduled for October 27, 2014;
AND THAT staff be directed to report back to Council subsequent to the Information Session and Town Hall Meeting on the findings.
