THAT the minutes of the Committee of the Whole meeting of Tuesday, February 17, 2015 be adopted.
Report: Community Services, dated February 23, 2015 / File: 12-6240-20-08/01
Catherine Berris, Urban Systems, gave a presentation on the Parks and Recreation Master Plan, which included an overview of the public consultation and planning process, the results of the survey, vision, goals, recreation trends, and key recommendations. Ms. Berris answered questions from Council on the composition of focus groups, priority rating for capital projects, the acquisition of park land, park planning functions, etc.

THAT the Parks & Recreation Master Plan be forwarded to the Parks & Recreation Commission, Environmental Protection Committee, and Community Care Committee as recommended in the report dated February 23, 2015 from Community Services regarding the Parks & Recreation Master Plan;
AND THAT the Committees provide comments on the recommendations contained in the Master Plan to the Parks & Recreation Commission for inclusion in a consolidated report to Council.

THAT the City create a Seniors' Focus Committee to assist in improving engagement and consultation with seniors as recommended in the Age-Friendly Community report;
AND THAT this committee be initially tasked with providing recommendations to Council on the recommendations contained in the report.
