Moved, seconded, and CARRIED THAT the minutes of the Finance Committee meeting held Tuesday, May 3, 2016 be adopted.
4.1 2016 Community Grant Requests Report: Financial Services Department, dated May 20, 2016 / File: 05-1850-01/2016
FC16/072 Moved and seconded THAT 2016 Community Grants be approved for the Pleasantside Elementary School Parent Advisory Committee in the amount of $5,000 and for Ecole Glenayre Elementary School in the amount of $2,000 as discussed in the report dated May 20, 2016 from Financial Services Department regarding 2016 Community Grant Requests.
FC16/073 Moved, seconded, and CARRIED THAT the foregoing motion be amended by adding: “AND THAT the $2,000 for Ecole Glenayre Elementary School be conditional upon the receipt of confirmation that the funds are still required for the stated purpose.”
The question on the main motion (FC16/072) as amended (by FC16/073) was put to a vote; the motion was DEFEATED. (Voting against: Councillors Dilworth and Junker, and Mayor Clay)
4.2 Project Consolidation and Budget Adjustment – MRN Road Reconstruction Report: Engineering and Parks Services Department, dated May 25, 2016 / File: 11-5240-01/Vol 01
FC16/074 Moved, seconded, and CARRIED THAT financial contributions received in relation to Evergreen Line construction in the amount of $121,312.50 be allocated to the current capital year’s MRN Road Reconstruction Program (CEN16106 – MRN Road Reconstruction) as recommended in the report dated May 25, 2016 from Engineering and Parks Services Department regarding Project Consolidation and Budget Adjustment – MRN Road Reconstruction; AND THAT grant revenue commitments received from ICBC in the amount of $50,000.00 (Road Safety Improvement Program grant funding) be allocated to the current capital year’s MRN Road Reconstruction Program (CEN16106 – MRN Road Reconstruction); AND THAT project CEN15105 – Road Reconstruction MRN be closed, with the remaining funding in the amount of $605,130.00 reallocated to the current capital year’s MRN Road Program (CEN16106 – MRN Road Reconstruction); AND THAT staff continue with the completion of the 2016 MRN Road Reconstruction program with a consolidated budget of $1,865,442.50.
