THAT Bylaw Nos. 2697 and 2698 be forwarded to a Public Hearing to be held on Tuesday, September 26, 2006 at Port Moody City Hall, 100 Newport Drive, Port Moody.
This item was to have been for public hearing tonight, however the newspaper ran the wrong ad and therefore the notificiation requirements were not met, and the meeting had to be rescheduled for Sept 26.
5.1 Glenayre/Burnaby Mountain Partying and Fires - Verbal Report - Mayor Trasolini
The mayor reported that his meeting which had been scheduled for the prior day (Monday Sept 11) with Burnaby had been rescheduled so he had nothing to report.

WHEREAS the Federal Government has recently terminated the EnerGuide for Houses Program which includes the EnerGuide for Houses Retrofit incentive (EGHR) and EnerGuide for Low Income Households (EGIH) Program, both of which encourage homeowners to make their homes more energy efficient;
WHEREAS these programs helped households cope with high energy costs, cutting their energy bills by an average of 30%, as well as cut greenhouse gas emissions; and
WHEREAS the City of Port Moody is a member of the nation-wide Partners for Climate Protection (PCP) program initiated by the Federation of Canadian Municipalities, has made significant advances in reducing its emission of greenhouse gases and is in the process of completing the implementation of Milestone 3 of the PCP program:
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council lobby the Federal Government to reverse its decision to cancel the EnerGuide Program;

AND THAT the foregoing resolution of consent be forwarded to the Greater Vancouver Water District for payment of the grant in lieu.
