Glenayre residents are being asked to keep an eye on their neighbourhood after a spike in the number of break-ins in the past few months.

There have been six break-and-enters in the area recently, most of them between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Port Moody Police are reporting that the unknown suspects force their way into the homes by breaking glass or prying doors open to steal cash and jewellery.

The break-ins have occurred on Glencoe Drive (two), Balbirnie Boulevard (two), Ailsa Avenue (one) and Allandale Avenue (one).

Residents are asked to report any suspicious activity to the PMPD at 604-461-3456 or, in case of emergency, call 911.
