Moved, seconded and CARRIED

WHEREAS the Cities of Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam and Port Moody recognize the absolute necessity of providing rapid transit to the Northeast Sector of the Lower Mainland; and

WHEREAS the Cities understand that resources are finite and that all municipalities in the GVRD will be required to compromise to affect reasonable rapid transit solutions for the Region;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that if the northwest corridor route is chosen, the City of Port Moody reluctantly agrees, and the cities of Coquitlam and Port Coquitlam agree that a Light Rapid Transit system on a Northwest alignment would be an acceptable rapid transit solution that should be pursued subject to similar cost-saving initiatives for the RAV line being pursued and that the line be at grade through Port Moody, connected to Coquitlam Town Centre and able to be easily connected in the future to Port Coquitlam and points farther east.
